Our Rationale

From the very beginning, the Political Economy Project (PEP) has hosted informal reading groups to discuss important books together. Texts or topics that could not easily fit into the framework of formal coursework were instead adapted to an intimate, small-group setting that allowed for more careful exploration and closer interaction than is possible in the classroom.

Dartmouth faculty, visiting professors, PEP Post-docs, even some undergraduate students, have offered nearly sixty different reading groups since the program's inception, including at least one per term for over a decade. The list follows:
