While it’s been widely debated, Yascha Mounk’s forthcoming book offers the first
comprehensive, level-headed analysis of it.

Tracing its intellectual history, he shows its influence and critiques its effects in areas from free speech to cultural appropriation, while renewing the case for a justice based on a more universalist humanism.

Mounk is one of the world’s leading experts on the crisis of liberal
democracy. Associate Professor of the Practice of International Affairs at
Johns Hopkins, he is also contributing editor at The Atlantic, senior fellow at
the Council of Foreign Relations, founder of Persuasion, author of multiple
books and host of “The Good Fight” podcast.

He has taught at Dartmouth each of the past five summers for the Political
Economy Project, which is the sponsor of this event.

The event is free and open to the pubic in Rocky 1 at 4:30 on Tuesday Aug. 15.
