After Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016, both political parties have repudiated past economic policies - rejecting neoliberalism for a new interventionism. The Trump administration rejected free trade and fiscal constraints while the Biden administration embraced industrial policy, aggressive antitrust enforcement, and even flirted with price controls. One of America's preeminent political analysts considers these new developments and their future.

Yglesias ("Slow Boring," 149,000 subscribers) is one of the most influential commentators at work today.

Moderated by Prof. Doug Irwin, the John French Professor of Economics and Co-Director of the Political Economy Project.
